Unreasonable Deposit Policy & Payment Process

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this hotel. Upon check-in, I was charged a deposit that was significantly higher than the actual cost of my stay. Then, during check-out, I had to pay for the accommodation again, while being told I would need to wait 14 days for the deposit to be refunded. This practice is unacceptable and unlike anything I've experienced at other hotels. Essentially, I ended up paying more than twice the required amount upfront, which is highly inconvenient and unreasonable! I don't recommend this hotel to anyone!

Please allow us to clarify our payment process. The preauthorization of your card for a deposit is a standard practice intended to secure your reservation and cover any incidental charges. Unfortunately, due to the technical difficulties we faced, this process was disrupted, leading to the deposit being charged and later needing to be refunded. Your experience does not reflect the standard of service we aspire to provide, and we are actively working to rectify these technical issues to ensure they do not happen in the future. We value your feedback as it helps us improve our services. Only the beds could me more comfortable (a bit softer).

I arrived at about 12.00 which is before check-in but I wanted to leave my bag. The woman at the checkin was unfriendly and did not really want to help. I felt that she and teh other staff were not interested in helping an Englishman with a rucksack, preferring Czechs in suits. Fortunately that was not my experience elsewhere in Ostrava which is a lovely city.
